The naked truth about Icyice
Many of you know icyice as -|PS|-!ce&frost, one of the oldest and craziest
high admins of this community. We all know that if there's an icefrost on
the server, you'd best behave or you're gonna run yourself into some trouble!
Over the past two years we've seen him handle unban requests at an
unparalleled volume and to be quite honest, I've never seen icy misjudge anything.
Combined with his friendly ways and great community spirit icy is definitely
one of the craziest characters and experienced admins here at Prime Squadron.
I caught icy on a drunken weekend to ask him some questions.
· So hi icyice, for those who don’t know what a crazy guy you are, tell us a bit about yourself
I'm living in Saarbrücken, next to France, I'm 22 years old working in an insurance company. I'm a soccer fanatic and like to have partys with friends and doing shit. It's always hard to write something about myself, so I guess thats up to others.
· Tell us a bit about your ET gaming, how it evolved and what you're doing now
I'm playing ET since around 2-3 years and I first started with ETPub and Shrubet. Joined PS #2 first time about 2 years ago and the people were very crazy wankers, so I stayed and yea, could tell u a lot of funny moments I had with all these people from different countries.
After some time I just got bored of all these funmods and started a clan with some funky PS mates, which most of you know as psc, and I also play for vo (= virtualorgasm), which is an offshoot of psc, but 2on2 and 3on3 only. Thats one of the reasons why im not playing that much on NoQuarter servers anymore. But of course its always fun late at night, drunkenstyle.
· Tell us a bit about your admin work here at PS - I know you don't have so much time for this since you decided to "play hard and go pro!", but how did you get into it and what makes a good pub admin in your opinion?
After I became a PS member I also started to switch around on the other PS servers and I noticed at some servers there are just way more rulebreakers around while some other servers were places of pleasure without any or just a few rulebreakers. So I learned from other admins as well how they react with rulebreakers. All this together made the icy I am today :> A good admin also should know how to spot a cheater and not to ban clean players because they can hit some headshots.
· And what is it about ETPro, what gets you so hot about it?
First of all i don't like crowded servers that much, it's just more fun for myself to have some teamplay with a few people and do the objective together. I'm just not into that brainless fragging thing anymore, its also fun from time to time, but it just bored me finally. Playing ETPro wars just adds a whole other dimension to the game, with timing, teamplay and objective-oriented gaming. And its also about the fps drops which won't happen there and about sober hitboxes.
· The holy hitbox hey... do you have any plans with ETPro? How active are you in competitive gaming atm?
I think the fun factor is one of the most important things in online games. But we can see ourselves growing and improving, especially if u look back 6-12 months ago when we just started playing serious ETPro. Now we also play and win officially rated matches. Right now vo is running in the Clanbase Spring OpenCup and we will rock the playoffs for sure!
· About ET and cheating and PB - what's your take on this?
Well cheaters are everywhere at any online game these days. But since ET still has a big amount of players it's just normal for these kind of people to join too. In general I don't get the fun of using some boring bot and pwning around without brain. But I got some doubts about PunkBuster as well, some of u might know about the gamehack ban. Anyway, its better to have some protection, even though admins also are pretty good at spotting cheaters, big thanks to them.
· And how will your gaming future look? Do you plan to retire any time soon?
I think I found my place for now at ETPro and since I still got fun with ET i don't have any plans to stop playing. But of course I also had moments when I was nearly quitting this game because I played it prolly a few hours too much in the past. But I would say by now I will play ET until it dies someday, and as long as the funky ppl stay with me and we have a party together, there is no need to split this fun.

f.e police known Hool.... cant stop drinking when begins... switches girls more often others change their pants.. and so on..
