please give us some more details :) I mean, does it stop on "awaiting gamestate" or is there some kind of error message?

i'd say check if the ET ports aren't blocked, or ask your provider.

yeah maybe you must call youre provider. And tell the story 2 them. Maybe they know more about this situation.
Ore maybe some1 here can help you if you give some more information, like what Chox says.

Why the hell are you posting for?

Anyway, have you tried to join the server by using
Code: Select all
/connect IP
in console?

Rainbow's got it.

The problem is likely port forwarding. And even thoe ET may work without you opening the port, there may be routers with strikter policy. Can you tell me which router you have?

Go to this site:
http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/

And enter port: 27960

And tell me what it says.

Cheers!

Edit: I think this should go into tech forumz...

Doesn't that check only TCP protocols?

not in my experience. I did however always open TCp and UDP port. So it may well be only checking TCP. But ET needs both anyway, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. What I mean is that if you open tcp correctly, you should be able to do so with udp as well.

ET needs both. but connecting needs TCP, and game sessions mainly the connectionless UDP.
F.e. old Cisco routers needs explicit policies for every application.

Btw this onlinetest says not much. At my university network test fails with "unreachable", @my parents (fritzbox router) it tells to all ports "closed". I am/was able to play ET over both.
