carnaval?

hey,
who gonna celebrate carnaval?
what is carnaval?
4 days of total madness in the south of holland and some parts of belgium.
some other countrie's also celebrate it.
what is the meaning of carnaval?
i really don't know the real meaning of it but to make it short:
dress up like anything you want for example a carrot, bowling ball, famous persons etc. etc.
getting drunk like hell (yeah
)
hot chicks
crap music hahaha
and lots and lots and lots of fun:)
translation:
you can get the greetings out of brabant vagina:)

hhahahaaha Smadje, I was watching it just this evening 
But ok. I live in south of NL, and I HAAAAAATE carnaval... I would be happy if it would be over, the only good thing is the one week of from school
Down side is that teachers made me do more homework then people who said they would go to pub etc. -_-
Maybe a little background of carnaval, I guess the many beers during the feast might have caused some brain damages considering the history of carnaval...
Carnaval is 40 days before Easter. In the earlier days, people used to not eat (vasten in Dutch) for those 40 days. Carnaval was meant to put everything upside down, so all poor could rule the city they lived in. Eventually (aka few days) they realized it suxxed, and they returned the rights of the city they lived in to the mayor. This is still seeable by the symbolic 'key of the city' that is given to Prince Carnaval. Anyways, if the 40 days between Carnaval and Easter were over, Easter was celebrated with lots of food, etc. which most people still celebrate.
Only thing that I don't know is why it is only in south of NL...

Worst festivity ever, don't really feel like going to Brabant and see some hillybillys drink beer and talk their accent.
My girlfriend is going though, she asked me to join her, thank god i have to work. She's going to Breda btw.

first day is over 
like probally you would guess i was kinda drunk:p
we were drunken working
drinking beer and microwaving hahaha
got a really hangover and sleeped in the car where it was fricking cold.
