Big lags :P

Hi guys, I was playing on PS1 tonight and there was a very big lag problem. Everyone was complaining and stuff, I thought it was still playable but I noticed some server lag as well.

Just thought I'd let you know, maybe there's something you can do?

It'd be cool to try to change the server location, though. :D

We indeed have some lags this past few days (mean more than usual), but as i ve already told it to Goku i have no real idea what can cause them since there is no real changes looking to the server side. I will contact Landser to have more infos , we all will have to b patient since he s not realy around at the moment :wink: .


Ps : some of the actual PS1 maps are pretty well known as laggy , it can explain a part of the problem but we also have lags on those which were running pretty well ...

Maybe you reached the max bandwidth and it got limited?
Other solution would be to force cvars.

You make a cfg in PS1.. which looks like..

forcecvar cl_maxpackets "100"
forcecvar rate "40000"
forcecvar cl_timenudge "0"
forcecvar snaps "20"


(As i saw many players with *beep* up settings.. like cl_maxpackets 30..)

Than make a custom shrubbot command.. where you exec the cfg..

Than you fixed the cvars of all the players on server for the map time, before server restart, or new map is loaded.. nq 1.2.7 allows to load the forcecvar cfg on every start of a map.

But ye this won't fully terminate the lags i saw, it's a server / root side one.
But it will make the gameplay idd more even.
