im back! ..and help!

Hey everyone, its been roughly 1.5 years since i last visited these forums, but then again 1.5 years ago i had to deal with a degenerate computer which couldnt handle ET anymore so i quit it, along with every other game i had.
Now however i have a state of the art computer, but it has trouble connecting to the PS1 server, its trying to download the mapfiles but redirects me to the etmain/final site online. ive downloaded all maps in etmain, nq, and a few others but still i cant connect.
any suggestions?

doesnt work either, im using windows 7 could that be conflicting or something?

You only need the map files in your ETmain folder.
Do you got this problem also on other servers?

If, upon downloading your map, Enemy Territory closes and your browser opens showing the server's FTP with all the maps, you have /cl_wwwdownload set to 0. Note that you have to change it to 1 for the certain mod that you are trying to connect to. Hence, it might be a good idea to put it in your profiles/name/etconfig.cfg or etmain/autoexec.cfg. You can also switch mod to NoQuarter (nq is the newer one, ps1 uses 1.2.3.) and switch it there in the console - make sure you didn't just switch it for ETMain.

did you try it the 'simple' way?
options > game > then, in the downloads section put everything to 'yes'
btw: remember once/if (
) you connect.. to type all those standard things in console like:
/rate 25000 or 40000 (both are ok imo)
/seta cl_maxpackets 100
/seta com_hunkmegs 128
/seta com_maxfps 76
It should automaticly save it to your 'etconfig.cfg' (which you should then copy to all other mods)
Just pointing this out in case you can't tweak it yourself
