Penalties for TD

Hi all.

I do not know whether the admins have the possibility to see monthly or the whole TD, but if so, what do you think to enter the penaltys for too large TD.
Competition may be organized every month and penalty may be for example, deleting part of xp:

1. (anti place): 10% XP
2. 6%
3. 4%
4. 3%
5. 2%
6. only added for nickname
7. only added for nickname
8. only added for nickname

additionaly 1 month with obligatory added before the nick (for example - !TD! nickname)

I think that you can check it for a month on the PS1

Of course this is just an idea, so you can modify or expand it

To label people who do too much TD isnt really necessary.
The PS members do pay attention to team damage and slap !warns on their faces. If they ignore the warns, they get kicked or banned. End of story :P
The people who do pay attention, say 'sorry' & perhaps change weapon dont deserve any exp loss. Like me kicking an enemy airstrike can away, only to have the air strike called down on myself and my team mates x__x

mmmm....
if you really want to do something....
imo the better opinion is that:
if you deal damage to a friend, you'll have the same damage deal to yourself

but imo isn't anyway a good idea...
because for 1 person that do TD on purpose... 10 people don't do it on purpose...

during a fight to receive damage coz infortunately I shot a friend imo is a nab thing..

like audio said mistakes can happen, sometimes TD isnt fault of guy who "did" it.
about your idea i really didnt get it fully, but as i understood it, i see it kinda impossible. most of our servers are running NQ which is kinda limited with these xp things, we can only delete whole xp or not at all, or then it goes too difficult.

and adding a TD tag before name would be also kinda impossible i guess, atleast with nq1.2.3 it should be done everytime person connects to server and he should be muted all the time, otherwise he could change his name back. all time mute could be bit harsh for that...

so i prefer active member who check players TD and think why he has done TD and could it be reduced and whic way, little talk, warn, taking his guns away, or in worst case kick/ban :wink:

members are always the best way of solving any problems :wink:

But I can agree on if you kill someone, you will get the same damage (like Gighen said)

Putting some tag in their name is just harassing, and totally unfair if you like hw, Rnade or arty/airstrike.

There was such a solution on PS1 or PS3 some times ago ..

When u shoot teamate u took the same damage to yourself..

It was terrible solution..

Greg i think it would be quite a good idea but would make too much work for Admins.

From my side.. best solution is just watchin,

write /players in console

when u see someone with too big TD .. just report it to Admin :)

imo the better opinion is that:

we have tried that out, its not good.
f.e. ur using arty and then ur teammate runs into ur arty, then u kill him and u also kill yourself. so its kinda pointless.
its not working good at all.

...and you see settings of all players like rate, maxpackets etc...
better try with /scores to see TD :P

pretty agree with ninja, it's also not possible to check the teamdamage of a player for a month or a few days. it allways will depend on the situation.

oke thats right but when is the limit of teamdamage i mean i have seen guys with 13 teamkills and they dont say something also when you see you dont know how to handel gun let it be some say but by trying you learn how to use it right :D like panzer and rifle nade :D
And teamdamage that happens much in fight because much people just run infront of you when you shoot and then they are dead and start to whine a bit but sometimes you have guys that just shoot there own guys but dont kill them so when you say now thats to much and thats not to much teamkill

if u see someone tb/tk more than normal then tell it to admin. admin will decide if it was intentional or not as soon as he has specced- or seen demo of him.

Well i think this "rule" isnt rly humanitary, we should be merciful for players wich dont know rulez yet.
Anyway some form of punishment should occure in cases of Mega TKS, Mega SKS., big rulez braking

I think greg's idea is briliant but hard to intoruce. It would be verry usefull in many cases.

isnt it better just making td only half of its real damage?
so u would prevent many silly tks which arent on purpose
and have ur lovely td on
so in most case u would have lower problems with sth like that

what about this idea?

PS: i dont know if its enabled on your first server already.

well garfield i said u will prevent many teamkills
if someone would hit you with a rifle for example u wont be dead - ull still have some hp
i guess its more comfortable than get killd immidiatelly
also if you get some shots from other player and you have lower HP he has longer time to recognize that hes hurting a teammate and can stop hopefully without killing you

this wasnt the no 1 idea to make all teamkills/teambleeds off

well and also u have mostly a full crowded server, 40 players (respect) but u cant prevent tb in some situations shit happens, mostly by weaker players, not on purpose so i guess that will be better for em aswell

also its like that:

u have td on
and have lower problems (well like i said above)

and u wont see any negative aspects in this idea, only positive ones

well if sebbel or bowdon want it on default, i cant force em out to do it, because i saw one post of bowdown it was sth like (we had it on default, never had problems with it) -

was a small suggestion of mine anyways, switch it on or not :p
