there is no best hockey player, 1 person can t win a team wins. Maybe he scores many goals but the players at the back are also important

Well, if u re talkin about "The Great One" u can say: best ice hockey player and probably nobody will argue with u

He scored 2857 points in his career, in that 1963 from asists (more than anybody in NHL history in points general!) 61 beaten records and what is most important - he just bring a revolution in canadian hockey by his incredible play. So if there is somone who u can call best ice hockey player, definitly is Wayne Gretzky.
