Stupid ping on ps#1

OK

Since ps#1 switched to jaymod my ping has gone from about 7 to over 300 with the same settings.
Just wanted to know if anyone knew what was causing this?
Or if this is happening to anyone else as well?

btw addshore i dont know whats your problem with ping couse i saw in other jaymod server with SAME settings you have 50-60 ping...

Yeh i know

such as the AY1 i am perfectly fine but then ps#1 laggs like hell.

Maybe a setting in the server conf?

At the risk of sounding less than intelligent, I'm going to throw this out there. Do any of you think it has anything to do with the fact that it is in transition. Yesterday, everybody who logged on had to download new pk3 files. So when people are connecting they are using bandwidth. Also, I believe Damelon said that there was a skinpack uploading at the time. That may have been limiting as well.

Ey dame..i have similar problem...but my is that my FPS drasticly reduces on PS 1..i play with 20 30 FPS on open maps...on other servers i have atleast 76.

Got 2600+ AMD Barton
1gb ramm
2048/384 connection
Gigabyte 7600 GS Silent

So i don't think that's problem by me..

My ping is high to at ps1... So I wont play maybe for a while at PS1 till I've my new pc (end of summer).

my ping in PS1 is always 40-60.. maybe u have virus? or try reinstall ET.

i typ in console /rate 45000 or /rate 25000

Normally on ps1 ive got a ping of 0 now ove got around 20. not that is a big problem but it proves that JAY on ps1 lags a bit

'good' settings on 1 mod doesnt mean that they work 'good' for every mod

Have you tried to tweak them a little bit?

yeh i have changed them lots.
Also my settings work fine on every other jaymod server i go on (not many as i dont really like it) and there i keep my ping at about 0-10.

just on ps#1 i get stupid ping for some reason

all mods difrent ping
thats why stick with the server you have best ping on
and if they change mod then try fix your ping
if you cant then find another server
