its all about testing your own personal cfg. Just take one off this forum, and alter the settings you dont like, until you are happy with it :) It will take you months probably, but eventually you will be happy, like I am now :)

Ofc practise a lot too. But its just a game, so who cares :D

P.S. A good mouse is a must, mine was 3 euros and it rox! :D

Also use a dot for aiming and not some other thingies theyr just confusing and are hard to focus in the middle

I had that one 2 but it sucked in my opinion. So got this one instead:

You can adjust the mouse speed with a press on the button on top of the mouse.

what i was trying to say, that your aim doesn't depend on a mouse

Using that one since 2 years :D ... But hey, all you need to do is move your mouse and click, all those extra 3427723678423 buttons aint a must.

Try to your NQ options (when playing press ESC), or search around this forum a bit for better fps/ kill environment. But if you go for the kills the game won't be fun anymore ;) .

My first advice, use a dot as aiming point so u can see whats happening around it and what exactly you are shooting. See FAQ For other /settings .

" maybe it's a bit offtopic "

I would never say, that you're wrong with your statements regarding "a good mouse isn't important", but i would like to say a good gamer mouse IS IMPORTANT.
But the main factor is your own practise... taking every week a different mouse isn't a good choice. A mouse is your personal extended hand.
Everyone must find his optimal mice... there isn't the one and only way.

LOL , i could write an attachment about my own mice settings now :)

Since i have a new mouse, it wasn't easy to find my optimal settings but i'm in a good way (i hope :P )

A good mouse is a must

i had this mouse for 5 years

I first said 'lol at people who buy 60 euro mice, they are nerds!'.
I also used quite a lot some standard optical fujitsu mice with 2 euros pads which were about 15 cm long or so.

After a while i got better and better and used low sens so mouse started to spin around while moving much with low sens.
So i wanted to try out a good mouse for low sens.
After research i have chosen the Razer Deathadder between Mx518.

At first it sucked, big, without accelaration.
i felt like i bought shit.
But after getting used i got used to no accelaration, ergonomic design, fast responding time, teflon feet which glide perfectly on my Razer Goliathus pad.

But it takes looong time to get used and can be very frustrating.
But after you got your good gaming gear don't change it all the time.
I can say for sure i won't buy any other mouse the next years, even if my deathadder breaks down i stay with it and buy the refresh edition :).

But in general i would suggest a new pc gamer to gain experiance with normal/standard gear first.
Afterwards getting good gaming gear for your needs.

About 'shooting config'.

m_pitch 0.0151 (standard - 0.022)
and
m_yaw 0.022 (standard)

Are good settings, which might improve your aim (atleast easier to do headshots)
Up/Down 'sensitivity' is reduced.
Left/Right movement remains in same speed.

Result: you can keep the headshot high while running (strafing).

My way which i did was first to google net settings first and tryin' commands out like cg_fov.. (which is 110 now).
Or getting a good made cfg and modify it yourself.
As there is no 'aiming' config.
Everyone likes sth other in his cfg.

So basically you need to know the cvars what they do (which can be very much).
And then try some out or mod an existing config of some players like butchji, clown, night, xylos.. whatever. :)
