[Introduction] TheAviatorOne

Postby TheAviatorOne » Mon Sep 05, 2011 21:54

Dear You,

Maybe you've already seen me (or not) in PS#1 but here I'm, TheAviatorOne. My real name is Steven and I am 18 years old. At this moment I'm studying "Aviation Studies" in Amsterdam. The whole study is related to the (technical) aviation. In the 2nd year you can choose a direction within the study: Pilot, Air Traffic Controler, Enginering or Manegement. I would like to be a commercial pilot or air traffic controler.

In the leisure I'm busy with the aviation (airplane spotting, Flight Simulator, watching YouTube movies about it and some more) , having fun with friends or playing Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory ofcourse!

About my Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory history: I met Wolfenstein about four years ago. I played it quite alot, I really liked the game. Friends of me played other games like Call of Duty or other games but I still remained with playing Wolfenstein. I've been part of some good clans/communities and really learned alot of that. Especially how communities handle with their server, players, members, forum and more. And you noticed that these communities became the "good boys" of Wolfenstein. These servers got a better reputation, popularity, love and respect. And Prime Squadron is one of them! That's why I respect Prime Squadron that much. I know how hard it can be to set up a good running server without errors or server crashes, to get (regular) players, to get good mature members, and to keep your server and community alive. Besides that, a good server is a customized server. It's not buying a server, give it a name, press start and there we go. No, it's a whole proces that requires patience and experience. I built NoQuarter and Jaymod servers for my friends and sometimes for myself and that realised me that you have to respect the good running communities with their server(s) and forum.

But after a while I decided to stop. I stopped playing Wolfenstein for months but after a few months I missed the "typical Wolfenstein fun" so I returned to "ET-Land," and that's why I'm here.

Prime Squadron, a new adventure! A place to be!

Kind regards,
Steven/TheAviatorOne

Nice intro! I would say, welcome to our community and have fun here. How is aviation studies? I am considering to sign myself in for the selection of traffic controller.

At this moment, I can hardly can give my opinion about it because it's only my 2nd week now. Currently, we are busy with a project. We have to research technical information about the six basic instrument of an airplane. And in the mean time, you've homework for math, mechanics, natural sciences and aerodynamics.

Hah! That was a funny moment =)

Mostly I'm flying alone. This because the multiplayer of Flight Simulator is really really bad. Laggy, bad connections, misplaced aircrafts (especially add-ons), everyone has another scenery so the locations of the airplanes are weird, voice sound quality are very low and the most annoying but true: Most people are "playing" and not simulating a flight. Doing things without clearance for example, doing jobs at the wrong way, abusing the voice sounds and alot more. So, that's why I'm flying alone. However, a good organized Virtual Airline won't be a bad idea...

Heya Mr.Aviator,

welcome, I see you have forgotten to mention you like building the leaning tower in ET, and with a airstrike marker on the top *evil*.

Anyhow, what kind of FlightSim? MS FS X or 2004? As for flying online, tried IVAO few times and it wasn't abused or anything like that, so we may very well fly a flight or two together, if you wish :P.

That being said, I suppose we shall meet on server again.

Best,
ckey
