Yes, I made this background by my own, there are more textures etc, and then fix it with the options what you got :P , btw I like that you like it, because fan of you, you are great signature maker 8)

background is good but render blending is really bad...

try to blend render more to background by doing some effects over it or making it same colour than bg... ;)

imo the render blend is 4/10 - hat and sleeves are similar to bg, that's good. but the white part is too different from it.

also composition is bit off, with placements of the logo and text. the logo doesnt fit in that place at all imo. and text is more apparent when its in middle. and the size of the sig makes lower left and right empty. so work on your compo :P

for render blend u can use smudge, part of the render into bg, etc. there are many ways. im sure there r tut's for this. basically u need to make it look like the render isnt copy pasted on to the bg. has to look like render is part of the bg, like a photo.
u can make light sources in places where it looks most real on the render. f.e. on ur last sig i would make right part lighter and left 1 darker.

oh and effects, such as random color lines/ small dots and shit like tht makes it look better too. :D

well diamond explained it pretty well :)

here is tutorials for text (in your sig it was logo, but placement is kind a bad)
http://fc00.deviantart.com/fs27/f/2008/ ... _Xpnze.jpg

remember also rule of third:
http://www.lunacore.com/photoshop/tutorials/tut023.htm
(not related to text but it is same with text too ;) )

about blending, well mostly you should add render as begin as possible so you can do sig looking good with that render...
also signature colouring should be done in end when sig is other way ready to get all blend together with colours etc...
also smudging exsample render sides little bit or adding some brushes/C4Ds over render is sometimes good too...

ill show some exsamples from my works:

in this sig you can see that render blends well with background by colours + there is effects over render sides too :)
Image

But in this sig (fast 5-10min sig) that car doesnt blend to background, it is different colour than BG & it kind a looks like it is just pasted there, EVEN that there is effects over it etc...
Image

ill see that you are just starting sigs making so i prefer to read this tutorial (2parts)

http://digitaldelusions.com/images/part1.jpg
http://digitaldelusions.com/images/part2.jpg

(there isnt 3rd part so tutorial isnt complete...)

hopefully those will teach you some new tricks etc :)
but you have really good start there (that background is kind a good :D )

keep it up :)
