Seeing Red

Postby Spyhawk » Wed Sep 23, 2009 13:19

I had a little big surprise when I woke up this morning : Everything was red.

As a result of the hurricane who hang around in the South east, lot of sand from the South Australia desert had been brought to Sydney city : it is a dust storm. Dry, dusty and totally red.

Quite impressive when the day before was shining blue, kind of apocalypse day ;)
See also this YouTube video, where the phenomenon was quite terrifying (a few hundred kilometer to the West where I live).

Unfortunately, I forgot to close the window last night... I still have lot of dust to clean in my room :P
Forecast tells that it is probable that tomorrow and Friday morning will be red.

Well, that must be cool :P suddenly all is in red, even without glasses.

Well, enjoy cleaning up, now we all know we should never go to Australia :)

Well Spyhawk, I hope that dust will be the only thing flying around, let's hope that there won't be any kangaroos flying through your windows xD

Warren > A spaceship ? To get where ? As far as I know, the only more or less liveable planet around is Mars, and it's also red :P

Baek > Well, there is lot of dust in the air, and it is a natural atmospheric pollution. I have probably eaten more sand today than any other day in the last 24 years :D Lot of people wear protective mask, as they were on sale those few months to fight swine flu. :P

= fail :D hehe

My teacher told me here today about the dust storm, but my god that looks really terrifying and unbelievable. Like 1 commenter said on that video "I would scream like a b*tch!" or "I would go to the nearest corner and pray"
It is really shocking how fast it turned dark and you begin thinking about those climate changes every one is talking about :P

To a galaxy far far away (planet of the bananas) ;)

I'm building a vessel with warp capabilities, of course Oxyg3n is helping me out cause of his secret hide-out and technical expertise 8)

Mars isn't a logical choice since it's even closer to the sun than earth.

Just for illustration, I already knew it before I looked it up :D

maybe I should stop posting here now, I feel I am annoying xD

No red this morning, everything is as it should be. I think I should go to the beach today :P

Ammz, Warren > No worries. The nearest star is a bit far away, but I am sure your great great grand children will have the opportunity to see it (if you solve the problem how to reproduce together :P).

Talking about Hubble, I've met 2 years ago the only Swiss astronaut that went 4 times in space to repair the telescope (I had to ask him some question for a project I was working on). Really interesting guy ;)

EDIT: Another YouTube video. This one is really impressive ;)
