Awaiting Connection / Failed to resolve etguidauth.evenbalan

Postby Ammz » Mon Dec 22, 2014 20:42

Pls send halp: http://puu.sh/dFi7h/6a6c96ec02.jpg

I tried to edit the host file and add: 192.246.40.62 etguidauth.evenbalance.com
Continously getting "awaiting connection x" where x -> infinity

Firewall is turned off. Any ideas?

did you already try to delete some pk3 files from etmain? Sometimes it happened to me too and I fixed it with that

Which pk3 files? I tried the suggestions in that thread as well.

You can delete all, excluding pak0.pk3, pak1.pk3 and pak2.pk3. Rest are maps, which you can re-download.

I usually delete big maps like ujesniper/panzer/tjmaps
But in this case I think it's a PB/guid issue

Done. The issue still persists.

I know that could be sad... but do you think that could be a etkey issue? save ur etkey and get a new one and see what happened

Did this 'just' happen or did you do something else? Please explain the problem a little more, in case you have f.e. reinstalled the game and the problem occurred, or downloaded anything/played on a particular server etc.

The problem happens mostly with new ET installations..

It's cool. I fixed it after a restart. Seems like the host file didn't take affect till then, which is strange since I did reset the DNS cache. Oh well. :)
